Michelle is the Managing Director of Segue Partners, a JTC Group company. After more than two decades working as a CPA in various accounting roles from the Big Four to a Venture Capital firm, Michelle became an entrepreneur and created a firm specializing in Fund Administration, Segue Partners. Since 2001, she has focused her expertise in the private fund arena and has been a key contributor in teams raising over half a billion dollars. She has raised venture capital, real estate funds, and mezzanine funds, from pensions, unions, trusts, high net worth and corporate investors. During Michelle’s tenure as Director and CFO for life sciences VC firm, Prolog Ventures, Michelle oversaw all limited partner reporting, audit and tax reporting, legal and financial due diligence, negotiated term sheets and oversaw investments of over 30 portfolio companies and served on the board of directors for three investments.
Michelle is a licensed CPA in the state of Missouri as well as a Certified Exit Planning Analyst (CEPA). Michelle earned her Bachelor of Business Administration, concentration in Accounting with honors from Saint Louis University and holds a Certificate in Spanish.
She received the Innovation in Accounting Award in 2016 from the St. Louis Business Journal and is thrilled that Segue Partners has been recognized as on the “Best Places to Work” in St. Louis, Missouri.
As a member of Entrepreneur’s Organization (EO) she is helping to create a global network that serves the unique needs of the entrepreneur. This innovative process has withstood-even flourished-during times of economic uncertainty and has a global footprint in more than 61 countries. Michelle currently serves on the board of the St. Louis Chapter and as Chair of the Accelerator Program.
Michelle is a recognized industry thought leader, mentor, and guest lecturer. She is a member of the AICPA and MOCPA and an inaugural member of the National Venture Capital Association’s CFO Task Force where she was active on the Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) comment committee. She has also served on The Helix Center Advisory Committee, the Missouri Venture Forum Board of Directors, and as an advisor to the Skandalaris Student Venture Fund at Washington University in St. Louis as well as guest lecturer.
