Michelle E. Murray, CPA

With more than 25 years of proven success in accounting and corporate finance, Michelle is a licensed CPA who founded Segue Partners in 2010 to provide accounting solutions to private funds and portfolio companies. Since 2001, she’s focused her expertise in the private fund arena and has been a key contributor in teams raising over half a billion dollars. She has raised venture capital, real estate funds, mezzanine funds, and non-profit capital campaigns along with start-up capital from pensions, unions, trusts, high net worth and corporate investors. For ten years, Michelle served as Director and CFO of Prolog Ventures, a life sciences VC firm where she administered three private funds and helped negotiate and report on over 30 investments. Prior to Prolog, Michelle spent over seven years in public accounting with Clifton Gunderson and Ernst & Young. During her tenure in public accounting, she advised and audited middle market and venture-backed clients.
Michelle is a recognized industry thought leader, mentor, and guest lecturer. She is the recipient of the 2016 St. Louis Business Journals Innovation Award for Accounting Individual, a member of the AICPA, an inaugural member of the National Venture Capital Association’s CFO Task Force, active member of The Entrepreneurs’ Organization, and serves on the EO Accelerator Board. She has served on The Helix Center Advisory Committee, the Missouri Venture Forum Board of Directors, and as an advisor to the Skandalaris Student Venture Fund at Washington University in St. Louis.
Michelle graduated with honors from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. She is a licensed CPA and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) in Missouri.
